In the winter of 1982, a helicopter of the Norwegian scientific research team suddenly broke the peace of the Antarctic continent, chasing a sled dog crazily, and finally crashed near the American scientific research camp. American scientific research team members have heard about the sudden decline of the Norwegian investigation team recently, so pilot Mike (Kurt Russell) and others rush to the Norwegian camp, only to see strange corpses scattered everywhere in the dilapidated land, and there is evidence that the Norwegian people have obtained some kind of creatures in the ice state. Doctor Blair (Wilford Brimley) studies the variation of the corpse, but is unable to decipher the cause. That night, the dog in the dog cage was attacked and mutated, and an unknown creature was threatening the lives of the scientific research team in the lonely Antarctic continent...
This film is a remake of The Thing From Another World directed by Howard Hawkes in 1951
