The story takes place in 1933 in Britain. The famous detective Polo (John Malkovich) receives an anonymous letter, in which the sender predicts three murders and gives clues. Although Polo called the police, the police did not attach too much importance to this anonymous letter. Sure enough, the murder happened, and two victims whose names begin with"A" and"B" were killed in the way described in the letter
Pollo knew that he must start a race against time to save the only survivor whose name begins with"C". Later, Polo received several anonymous letters with similar contents, but when he started to investigate the truth behind all these events, he was repeatedly blocked. Only Detective Crom (Rupert Grint) firmly stood by Polo
