Adapted from the mystery novel of the same name by the writer Seiichi Morimura, this book was published in 1976 as a blockbuster film version co starring the late actor Yoshiko Matsuda and the actress Moliko Okada the next year. In 2004, it was also filmed as a serial version by Takeno and Kazukawa, but changed the era of the play to the modern era.
