Adapted from a famous classic novel, the story describes how a little girl overcame all kinds of difficulties and tests to win her love, recognition and exclusive place. The story takes place in the late 19th century. The orphan daughter Anne (Amy Beth McNulty) is arranged to live in the home of a brother and sister on Prince Edward Island by accident after experiencing a childhood of abuse in an orphanage and a strange home. With the passage of time, Annie, only 13 years old, with her unique courage, wisdom and rich imagination, has brought changes to the life of Marilla Caspert (played by Geraldine James) and Matthew Caspert (played by Robert H. Thomas R.H. Thomson), even to the whole town. Annie's experience will bring reflection on such enduring issues as self-identity, feminism, bullying and prejudice
