This season's story is set in modern times, with the third season of The Witch Gathering as the background.
After a nuclear explosion completely destroyed the world, people built an underground shelter called the"Third Outpost" to protect the survivors with a strong genetic combination. Venables (Sarah Paulson) and Ms. Mead (Kathy Bates) are the owners of the third outpost. They have a set of strict rules for the management of the outpost. The residents of the outpost, Galant (Ivan Peters), Coco (Leslie Grossman), Coco's assistant Mallory (Billie Lord), and the host Dina Porter (Adina Porter), survived under the cruel rule of Ms. Weinabur and Ms. Mead. Shortly after, the arrival of the antichrist Michael Langdon (Cody Finn) broke the peace of the outpost: he wanted to select valuable people and bring them to a better"shelter". But Michael was not a kind man. He poisoned the residents of the outpost at the party. Then, the former witches appeared - they came to the outpost with the determination to eradicate Michael and declared war on Michael...
Two years before the"apocalypse", the supreme witch Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) found her magic was gradually losing. At this time, she noticed that the appearance of Michael Langton, a new wizard, at the wizard school was probably the cause of her decline. Soon Cordelia discovered his plot to destroy the world. In order to prevent him from succeeding, Cordelia finds her sisters, Myrtle (Frances Conroy), Zoe (Tessa Farmiga), Madison (Emma Roberts), Quini (Gabriel Stibe), Misty (Lily Rabe), and the new Mallory. For the safety of the witches, Cordelia eliminated the memory of Coco and Mallory and hid their identity as witches to enter the outpost. The war between the witch and the devil's son is imminent
