The story happened in 930 A.D., during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period in Chinese history. In the Taiyi Mountain in the Yangtze River valley, there is a Taiyi Academy built in the era of Empress Wu. It is one of the two most famous academies in the world, and is regarded as a holy place for learning by scholars. The rumor of"Zetian Treasure" in Taiyi Mountain has made the authorities and careerists all over the country focus on Taiyi Academy. In the eyes of all parties, Taiyi Academy welcomed the new school year, and a batch of new students entered the school. Among them, Zhang Yi, a direct descendant of the Confucius family (his real name is Kong Renyu), Li Jingyu, the crown prince of the Southern Tang Dynasty, Duan Muzheng, a descendant of the Mohist School, Cui Jialuo, the daughter of the head of the Cui family in Qinghe, Wang Enzhu, the exiled princess of Gaoli, and Zhang Ying, Zhang Yi's sister (her real name is Zhang Ying) all came for the"treasure of Zetian".
